LOL Out Loud Cats

I was in Lexington all day today. I missed being home with Lisa and the girls. I should be okay for a few more days so I can stay home. Lisa made chicken with a stir-fry sauce with rice and Brussels sprouts for dinner. I got home late because of my new schedule. I would have preferred working two hours early in the morning to get my ten hours but I'm low on the totem pole so I don't get a choice. Hopefully I'll get to take some pictures tomorrow.
For now here are some cats I thought were funny.

Please, just don't talk now.

A Break

It rained most of the morning. I went out this afternoon for a break from work. The garden is still growing. There are a few tomatoes getting red and the squash is getting bigger. Tomorrow I'm going to work in Lexington. I have to download some DVD images from the ftp site and the VPN is too slow to do it from here. I also have to build a new Linux server in VMware. It's easier to do from the console so I can do that tomorrow too. The rest of the day will be long and dull. I like working from home. I've gotten used eating lunch with Lisa. When I'm here Satin always hangs out with me. I have to be careful because she sits close to the chair and I don't want to roll over her. I also have a nice view out of my window, so working from home is much better than going to the office.

Cucumber! There are a bunch of them all over the vines.

And a cantaloupe! We didn't even see it until today and we look every day. Can you see it in the picture on the right?

Lenny found a box. He does kitty things.

Mowing the Lawn

I didn't have to work today. I started my new schedule this week. I'll be working four ten-hour days a week now. I'll be working every third Saturday so the way the schedule rotates I'll have at least one four day weekend a month. As a trade off my shift is 10am-8pm so I won't have as much free time in the afternoons. So this may be the last truly exciting post for a while. I'll try to keep posting but I might not get as many pictures.

I mowed the girls' lawn with the push mower.

It took a while but it looks nice.

Organizer

I got home from work this morning at 5:00. The change didn't go as well as planned so it took a little longer than anticipated. I was able to sleep until 11:00 so it wasn't too bad.

Lisa put up the hooks for the coffee cups. I put labels on my parts organizer and hung it up in the garage. Wile I was at it I put in the bench light.

She made a template out of cardboard to lay out the holes for the cup hooks.

Common Unix Printer System (it's a nerd joke). The original, temporary, location of the organizer.

Removing from the tmp (the nerds get it) location. Had to stop and photograph the flowers.

I got the label maker at a yard sale. Screwing in the mounting bracket for the light.

It works!

All the neat labels. Now I'll be able to find stuff. As long as I keep putting the right things in the right drawers.

Hot Dogs

We got a new hummingbird. This looks like it's probably a male. He's not as big as the other ones but he's green and shiny. His head is shaped differently too. We didn't do a whole lot today. I cleaned the filter in the pool, which is always exciting. I have to work tonight at midnight to implement a change in some of the servers at work. It has to be done at off-peak hours since I have to take the servers offline to do it.

See how green and shiny! Spraying the filter.

It was rolling around so I had to hold it. That's where it goes.

Bleeding the air out of the system.

Putting in the shock. We had hot dogs for a late lunch.

And hamburgers.

Lisa's is the bloody one with cheese. Mine is cooked.

Looks good enough to eat.

Growth

Stuff grows here. We had a lot of rain over the last couple of days. Everything turned green again and the squash got big. The grass grew too so my break from mowing is over.

Not really big but a lot bigger.

There's a red tomato on the cherry tomato bush. There WAS until Lisa plucked it and ate it. And my grass seed is growing. It's very cute. These are the ones by the Doggie Dooley.

Lisa was stacking the girls for this picture and Rhythm came over to get in on the action.
