The Blugrass Classic Dog Show

We went to the dog show today at the Kentucky Horse Park. It was a big show. We were too late to see the obedience but we got to see a bunch of breeds. They were doing a lot of herding and hounds when we got to the rings. We headed that way because the Shelties were showing at 12:40 according to the program. They followed the Rough Collies and the Bearded Collies. They had one Puli too. The turnout was lower than we would have thought. We estimated that only about half of the dogs entered had showed up at the ring. It was hot and an outdoor show but they would have known that it was outdoors when they entered. They also would have know it was late August so the heat wouldn't have been a surprise.

See the blue Corgi? And can anybody tell me what kind of dog this is on the right?

Anybody?....The vendors were there in force. We liked the clothes. I think Gracie needs one of those knitted pink sweaters. Hey Marianne, your mother can knit!

The Shelties were lining up to show in ring 8.

Pretty girls. There was a blue merle Pomeranian, who knew?

I liked the Sheltie cart. Lisa made friends with the Sheltie waiting for its turn in the ring.

The draped the wet towels out of the cooler to keep the dogs cool. The Bearded Collies didn't have to walk, there were several people carrying them on their shoulders like this.

Best of breed on the right. We stopped on the way home to look at the horses.

Lisa's New Camera

These pictures were all taken with Lisa's new camera. It's a Fujifilm FinepixZ 10 megapixels. It's a tiny little thing and it's blue.

Driver's License

We went to Winchester to get our driver's licenses today. We are now official Kentucky residents. Afterward we went to Lexington. We ate lunch at the Cici's Pizza and stopped at the big Lowe's. We were looking for a shoe store for Lisa but it was out of business. We did stop at Barnes and Noble and Petsmart. We had to take a picture of the new lines they painted on Wade's Mill road. They did all of US 60 but the part out by us was the worse.

Cici's Pizza. The young manager thought we were old and gave us the senior discount. Kind of a bummer but we saved $4. The highway crew was a little intoxicated, I think.

I got my hair cut too.

Lenny's New Shelf

Lenny decided he liked the new shelf I put up for him today.

Honey Do

The list will never be fully accomplished. However, I will strive to complete as much of it as possible. Today I put up a couple of shelves and some lights. I also repaired the railing on the porch.

Lenny went back to bed. He heard there was work to be done. The post in the railing was broken.

I drilled a hole to receive the abandoned screw. It was that or disassemble the whole thing.

We put up the lights we used to have in our living room in Florida.

We each got one.

It was fun. Lisa was taking pictures and making me laugh.

We needed a shelf over the bed.

And in the bathroom too.

Crudites

It was really hot outside so we did mostly indoor things. I hung two safety bars in the guest bathrooms. I used heavy duty drywall anchors since there weren't any convenient studs. Each anchor is rated for 35 pounds and there are six in each bar so they should hold 210 pounds. They should hold well enough for steadying yourself while getting in and out of the tub. We broke for lunch, Lisa made cucumber and tomato sandwiches on Jewish rye with cream cheese and chives. Then I put up the swag hook for hanging the glass ball.
