Horse Auction

When we got up this morning the neighbors were in our yard again. It was the same white faced one but he brought a couple of girlfriends with him this time. He wandered over by Mr. Reece's pasture to chat up his cows. By the time he turned around the herd had moved off and he got a little scared. We ran him back to the right side of the yard and let the girls out to chase them back through the fence.

This one was munching on our elm tree and really wanted to get to the grass on the other side of the chain link fence. It's greener over there, you know. If you look closely you can see the cow leaping through the fence.

We went to the horse auction in Paris. There were hundreds of horses for sale. You could test drive them too.

It was kind of sad seeing them being paraded around like that. They had one of those fast talking auction guys. We had no idea what he was saying. When he slowed down at the end of each horse we could tell how much they were going for. There were some selling for $50 and the most we saw was $800 for a four year old trained registered quarter horse. It was green broke and trail something. Anne or Heather will have to go next time to translate for me.

Lisa wandered off a couple of times. This time she was going to look at the horses in the barn.

See, we were in Paris. We stopped and picked wild flowers down by the creek.

I see the girls like the "job" on barking at the cows all day long!!! Those were some pretty horses. Just so you know I could have come along and translated just as well as my mom could.

Ah, Paris in summertime, there's nothing better. :-)

I see I have already been replaced. I guess I'll have to keep my other job.

After I posted that I thought that you could probably do well with the horse jargon, Marianne. You'll have to come to the auction on New Year's Day. We'll get there early so we can look at all the horses.
