Doggie Dooley

It's a septic system for dog poop. You bury the contraption in the ground then add some water and enzymes and the poop just dissolves away and leaches into the ground. It sounded like a good idea until I had to dig the hole.

The tank and the tank suppliers.

Just a little square hole. No big deal.

It was fun. Rich brown dirt under the turf. Easy digging.

Then I hit the clay layer. Have you ever dug through clay?

I used Cathryn's claw tiller to break up the clay. Then I could cut it with the shovel.

Be the hole.

See the layers? Light brown then dark brown. Under the dark brown it changes to a lighter brown right above the top of the shovel blade, that is the clay.

It fit in the hole after some adjustments.

Foot lever opens the lid then you just drop the poop.

Outside looking in.

Inside looking out.

What a great idea for a product! Digging there seems a little different than digging in FL. Have fun with the Doggie Dooley - is that it's reall name?

Jim, you did such a great job on the hole, will you dig the hole for me if I get a doggie dooley?? We don't have too much clay here!

You know, I never even thought of a system like that for dogs. What a great idea!

Yes, digging through clay sucks.

Not too much clay in South Carolina? It's all just loose sand, right?
