Post 1 - Working on Sunday

We got a lot done today. It's not dark yet so I might go out and mow one of the fields still. I'll have to test to make sure I can hear my pager on the mower in case I get a call.

I finally got those old pieces of swing set hauled out. They were heavy. Each one had a chunk of concrete on it.

This piece was loose. Lisa had to get a picture of me making a face.
The load of swing set pieces. It was actually a nice swing set but we are a little old for that sort of thing. It was kind of an eye-sore too. We thought of giving it away on craigslist but with the concrete it never would have come out easily.

I took the pieces down to the first culvert and used the pieces to reinforce the sides around the pipe.
Me swinging the sledgehammer:

After I got the concrete off I cut the pieces down so they would fit in the garbage cans.

You gotta love the Sawzall!

Cleaning up. I split the pipes into two barrels so the trash men wouldn't have such a heavy lift. I figured if I could get them comfortably into the back of my truck, they shouldn't have a problem dumping them.

I took the little mower down to get the spots the tractor won't reach around the driveway.
I quickly remembered why I don't use the line trimmer with shorts around here. It was okay in Florida with the clean grass but the weeds and rocks tear you up. I had gravel and weeds stuck all over my legs.

It looks like you enjoyed your day off, huh? Seeing all the pictures of you working was making me tired. I am sure you're glad to get rid of the swing set though. I have already packed my suitcase and will load it tomarrow.
